Captain Brian Chick welcomes guests on to his new 6,7m Guest Tender that is now also SOLAS compliant

Tender Certification

In 2005 when Captain Brian Chick wanted a new general purpose tender to replace his solas rescue boat aboard M/Y Mosaique, he contacted us to inquire if we could get a  deluxe 7m sized RIB approved as a rescue boat. Most other builders had said it was ‘not possible” to approve a tender that was not designed as a rescue boat as the process would take too long and be too expensive. We thought otherwise, as we had already managed a successful SOLAS approval process in 2000 of a 5,8m deluxe diesel tender for Project 305. We were able to bring speed and efficiency to the design and approval process which resulted in a lower cost and faster delivery. Since then we have continued to evolve the process through many approvals. We are confident that we can offer you a unique service of delivering a custom SOLAS compliant tender of your choice.

Superyacht owners sometimes want more from their mandatory SOLAS rescue tenders than just a boat that takes up space on their yacht and is only needed for emergencies. While some rescue tenders often double up as a crew tender, they are rarely considered to have the fit and finish required to be used by the owner or guests.

In the 40 years that Tim has been in the tender business, he has had some very imaginative requests from yachts asking if an existing tender could be upgraded to be SOLAS compliant. In most cases, the lifting arrangement on board would not be compliant, but in other cases, an existing SOLAS davit could be used.

We invite you...

to submit your existing tender, or a new tender you would like to have,
